Swimming

Middle School

The Loyola Middle School Swim team is coached by Mr.Raymond Brown and assisted by Mr. Keith Schertle. Mr. Raymond Brown was a very accomplished swimmer for Loyola Blakefield in the 80's and went on to compete and star for the University of Virginia. The goal of middle school swimming is to be competitive and to help prepare the young DONS for high school and year round swimming. Middle School Swim Practice is held daily after school for approximately one hour.

High School

Loyola has both a JV and a Varsity Team. The team is coached by Mr. Keith Schertle and is assisted by Mr.Raymond Brown. Mrs. Lisa Lagator will be working with our divers. Historically the team has been ranked in the top 25 in the nation for the NISCA Dual Meet Rankings and boasts many All-American Swimmers. The team has won 20 out of 21 MIAA Championships, the National Catholic Swimming Championships 6x and is one of the premier high school swim programs in the country.

The JV and Varsity team practice and compete together. The teams practice daily after school and have a number of am workouts per week before school.

Many of our swimmers move on to compete in colleges annually, of which we are most proud. Loyola takes great pride in preparing our athletes for the next level of competition.
