Express your inner person.

The tools for expression take many forms and they’re all yours—your interpretation of a piece of music, your vision for a painting or sketch and your personal story and sense of drama. Loyola Blakefield’s Fine and Performing Arts programs give you the opportunity to dive in through practice and get cultural, social and spiritual perspective through historical theory. So you can express yourself as a budding artist and a developing individual—as only you can.
Our award-winning Forensics team builds leadership skills while raising the craft of speech and debate to an art form. Loyola Blakefield students have won many individual championships on the local, statewide, regional and national levels.

Well-rounded performances.

As an ensemble member, feel free to play outside the notes and participate in our clubs and sports teams. Loyola Blakefield students learn from experience that they can usually do more than they think they can. Quite a bit more.

How do we express our Performing Arts?

Choral Music Stretch your vocal chords, and your perceived limits, by taking part in one of our vocal ensembles—7th and 8th grade chorus, and our J Notes a cappella group. Our choral groups perform at venues all over Baltimore.
Instrumental Our award-winning middle school and upper school instrumental ensembles are consistently rated “excellent” or “superior” at festivals and competitions across the country. Many of our graduating Dons who participate in this program choose to study music at prestigious colleges and universities.
Blakefield Players Like everything else at Loyola Blakefield, our theatrical productions are 100% hands on and connected to both our school community and the community outside of it. Our award-winning Blakefield Players fill many roles—including stage performance or the craft of building sets, lighting and sound.
